FAQ
What will I receive with after my purchase?
After purchase, you will receive a downloadable ZIP file containing all profiles or presets included in the selected pack. Each pack includes professionally created presets or captured profiles of the advertised amplifier or signal chains across different gain levels, tonal variations, cabinets, and mic placements. Many packs also include optimized rig tags and volume-matched profiles for easier browsing and consistency.
No licensed IRs or third-party content are required — everything loads directly into your Kemper without additional purchases.
How do I load the profiles into my Kemper?
Profiles can be loaded using either Rig Manager or USB:
With Rig Manager, simply unzip the pack, drag the profiles into your Local Library, and sync them to your Kemper.
With USB, copy the profiles into the /Shared folder on a FAT32-formatted USB stick, insert it into the Kemper, and use the Import function from the system menu.
Both methods work with all supported Kemper hardware models.
Why don’t the profiles I purchased sound good?
Tone is the result of an entire signal chain, not just the amplifier — and this chain is different for every user. Several factors can strongly affect the final sound:
• Monitoring and headphones – Different headphones and monitors have very different frequency responses. Some emphasize bass or treble heavily, while others are flatter. What sounds balanced on studio monitors may seem harsh or dull on consumer headphones or FRFR speakers. During the creative process, we rigorously tested each preset or profile against flat response monitors or headphones (HD 650/DT-770).
• Pickups and guitars – Pickups vary dramatically in output level, frequency curve, and compression. High-output humbuckers will drive profiles much harder than vintage single-coils; brighter pickups can exaggerate fizz, while darker pickups can make a profile sound muddy.
• Guitar cable – Guitar pickups together with the Volume, Tone knobs and the cable hitting the first pedal or your amp is an electrical system which influence the source signal. The capacitance of the cable varies based on material and length.
• Playing dynamics – Pick attack and technique affect the amp behavior far more than most players realize. Profiles respond like real amplifiers, including to touch sensitivity.
• Musical context – A guitar tone that works perfectly in a full band mix will often sound mid-forward or “thin” when heard solo. Conversely, tones designed to sound huge alone frequently become muddy or disappear in a mix.
• Recording technique – Our demo clips reflect studio conditions — high-quality converters, professionally chosen mic positions, controlled monitoring environments, and subtle post-processing or balancing for presentation. None of that translates perfectly to every listening setup.
• Genre and tonal expectations – We aim to capture authentic amplifier tones rather than extreme genre-specific “one-size-fits-all” settings. Modern metal, classic rock, fusion, pop, and blues all demand very different EQ curves and gain structures, even when using the same amp.
Our profiles are created to strike a balance between:
Authentic signal-chain accuracy — preserving the real behavior and character of the amplifier and cabinet
and
Mix-ready usability — keeping tones close to what would be used in real recordings with minimal tweaking required.
However, because every guitar, monitoring setup, and musical context is different, some adjustment is always expected. Minor EQ, Definition, or gain tweaks are part of tailoring any professional tone to your personal rig — just as with real amplifiers.
When I play through one of the profiles used in your demos, it doesn’t sound the same. Why?
Demo recordings represent a complete production chain, not the raw Kemper output alone.
Our audio demos include:
• Carefully chosen guitars and pickups that complement each profile (where possible we communicate this)
• Studio-grade converters and monitoring
• Mic placement optimized for each cabinet
• Small EQ refinements and level balancing
• The sound of a full mix context
When you play the same profile at home, the result depends on your guitar and pickups, your monitoring system or headphones, your room acoustics, and your playing dynamics.
Profiles are designed to reproduce the amplifier faithfully — but your playback environment will never exactly match a controlled studio production environment. The goal is for the underlying tone character to remain consistent while allowing you to tailor final tone to your personal equipment and musical needs.
Is there a return policy?
Due to the digital nature of the product and immediate download access, all sales are final and non-refundable.
If you experience technical issues loading or using the profiles, or if something does not appear to function as advertised, please contact support — we are always happy to assist and ensure you receive exactly what was purchased.
Do your profiles work with all Kemper models, including the Kemper Player?
Yes. All profiles are fully compatible with all Kemper hardware models, including:
• Kemper Head (Powered and Unpowered)
• Kemper Rack (Powered and Unpowered)
• Kemper Stage
• Kemper Player
This includes MK II as well.
The Kemper isn’t loading some or all of the profiles in the pack. What’s wrong?
In most cases, this issue is caused by:
• Attempting to import the ZIP file instead of the extracted profiles
• Using an outdated version of Rig Manager or Kemper OS
• Copying profiles into the wrong USB directory
• USB formatting issues (must be FAT32)
• A corrupted or interrupted download
Make sure the ZIP file is fully extracted and that only valid .kipr profile files are being imported. Keeping your Kemper OS and Rig Manager up to date is also strongly recommended.
If problems persist, please contact support with your Kemper model and OS version, and we will help resolve the issue quickly.
